Pricing & Custom Fans

I offer a unique creative accessory line of couture fans that I 100% construct. Some prices are based on: 1) beading type (i.e. semiprecious beads, solid gold beads or sterling silver beads), 2) availability of specialty beads, 3) change in market rates of beads, 4) low-stock of discontinued beads, 5) beading & sewing difficulty, 6) design aesthetic and 7) cost of materials. The types of feathers and number of feathers also determine pricing.

I do offer bulk orders where there is a wholesale rate established for orders of 15+ fans which requires a deposit and a 2-4 month advanced request to provide adequate time to complete the order.

Requests for Custom Fans require a minimum of 1-2 month(s) advance communication and can take up to 2-4 weeks to complete a single fan depending on the design. Custom Fans start at $150+ and require a deposit.

Who is She?

Onabanke (aw-nuh-bahn-kay) is the Yoruba name given to me which beckons my spirit to manifest creativity and artistry that helps to both remember and define my destiny.

My creative discovery of the art for making hand fans was and is a self-taught craft guided by Divine inspiration. The experience of learning how to authenticate and bring into fruition what destiny is and has for me has compelled me to share this gift that is still a work in progress towards mastery. While my abebe/fans are functional women's accessories, they are pieces of art. The renaissance contributions by the African in the Diaspora compels us to look back, recall, recycle and reinvent the phenomenal artistry of our ancestors. Beadworking is a craft seen throughout many indigenous cultures. I fashion my beadwork in honor of the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria, but I also have created my own contemporary unique beading aesthetic. Abebe Royale is my artistic contribution to this diasporic renaissance movement that I pray leaves a positive indelible fingerprint. Ashe!
